Easter

This was our first Easter in our new house, with two boys, and my first time to work on the holiday.

We made the very best of it and began the celebrations on Good Friday by hosting our Small Group over for a hamburger cookout and to celebrate 3 birthdays our group has in April: Tiffany, Blake, and Travis.

It was a great night full of good food, drinks, and chasing our children around.

Travis and Blake celebrated their birthdays with a round of golf. Hudson and I snuck onto the course to bring them a drink and cheer them on!

Saturday both boys slept in a little! We cleaned up a little around the house, I took Charlie on a walk and Travis took Hudson to get his haircut.

That afternoon we headed to the FOR Country Club for an Easter egg hunt. We had to wake Hudson up early from his nap to go so he was a little timid to hunt, but he managed to get several eggs and play some games they had set up on the back lawn.

Charlie got to wear a special outfit given to us by Travis' cousin, Sara. She has 3 boys and they wore those precious Feltman Brothers bubble. I love hand me downs!

Cita and Pops arrived Saturday evening and we had pizza and lots of fun okay time for the boys.

Sunday morning I headed to work (where we held our own delicious Easter lunch and received Communion from our Chaplain) and the rest of my crew went to church and came home to a delicious meal Cita made.

It was a wonderful weekend and as always a great reminder that our redeemer LIVES, died for our sins, and has given us the greatest gift of all: Eternal life.

Two Years

Hudson Langford Riley

Two years old

For your second birthday we celebrated with all of your friends at our house and had a Toy Story themed party. You wake up daily asking to see Woody and Buzz, so felt it was appropriate to celebrate your big birthday with your favorite movie.

We attempted to take a group picture (not all friends pictured. Some had left before I remembered).

 Two Year Stats:

Weight: 34lbs

Height: 38in

Head: 50cm

Clothes: some 3T but mostly 4T

You are one tall fella, Hudson. Your pediatrician thinks you will for sure be 6 feet tall, but maybe up to 6'4!

•You play most sports, eat, and write with your left hand
•Your hair is thick and the most beautiful red color
•Your smile and laugh are absolutely infectious and melt our hearts.
•You enjoy talking to your brother and bringing him toys or his pacifier when asked.
•Playing golf is your favorite
•You play so hard your nap is usually 3 hours!
• You might just eat us out of house and home by the time you go to high school. You love to eat and "snack."
• Talking. You do it non-stop and know so many words. We've noticed you make complete sentences now and have even started asking 'why'.
•Tantrums. You definitely have your moments and we are doing our very best to learn how to work with you during these times. Thankfully your sweetness outshines these moments, but we will be grateful when these days are gone.
•Outside might be your favorite word. We know it's your favorite place to be.
•We moved to a new house and you have adjusted wonderfully. It's like you didn't even skip a beat. You've always been great at transitioning!
• Reading books is something you love doing! You like to "read" to us and enjoy being read to.

Hudson,

We love you so very very much and just adore watching you grow and learn before our eyes. You have a sweet yet fierce spirit, a smile and laugh that brightens even the darkest of days, and a desire to constantly learn. We pray that you continue to grow, stay healthy and happy, and know how much we love you!

Happy Birthday, Hudson!!
