8 Months

Eight Months: 11-05-15

Stats:

Height: 30+ inches
Weight: 20ish pounds
No official stats due to no doctor visits

Feeding: 4 7oz bottles each day with table food at 2-3 feedings. Hudson can (and prefers) to self feed over being spoon fed. I prefer this method (minus the messes that occur) now that he has more teeth because it allows me to do some other things while he's happy and eating. However, when the food is all gone our sweet boy turns into a rage monster with a red-faced cry begging for more. I promise we feed him and feed him enough, but I'm convinced he'd clear a buffet if given the chance.
Pulling up on everything.

First hunt. First deer season.
Does it still count if he didn't hunt, but wore camo and was at the ranch?
Sunday morning smiles
Bedtime and books with daddy.

I can barely handle the cuteness contained in this picture. H looks so big. Travis' company, Vaughn Construction sent this adorable backpack for Hudson's arrival.

Did you know naps with pants are overrated?

First time in overalls! (Thanks to Jackson for the overalls)
Another month and another play date with Macy.

First Thanksgiving celebration at school.
Our Thanksgiving was extra special this year because the newest member of the Huey family arrived: Olivia Grace Huey came the day before thanksgiving in a fast and furious delivery.

She is beautiful, looks like Jax and Kinley but has darker hair. We love you so much Livvy!
Thanksgiving smiles.

Granddaddy Hudson (H's namesake) made this rocking horse for my brother and I and now Hudson gets to enjoy it. So special. Cowboy Hudson looks like a natural, too.

Oh, Thank Heaven...for 7 Months

7 Months:

Weight: 17.1 on 10/9 and 18.14 on 10/28

Height: hovering around 30 inches

Feeding: still having bottles every 4 hours (7oz) and baby food with the 11 and 3 feedings

Sleeping: 7p-7a and 2 naps during the day. One nap is usually better than the other. He always wakes up happy and now standing up ready for us to get him.

Likes: food, crawling, pulling up, standing up, stroller rides, being worn in the Tula, playing with toys

Dislikes: he just started getting fussy when he is put into his car seat. He's fine after he's buckled in. He's also recently become a wild man when changing his clothes/diaper.

Hudson had a scheduled surgery on 10/9 to correct a mild case of Hypospadias. They did a chordee repair and circumcision (so glad that's finally done!!).

Hudson did so great and recovery was a cinch. He didn't nee many pain meds and was back to his normal self just hours after the procedure.

Waiting for Hudson to wake up. He was so sweet.

As soon as we got home he was ready to play!

SuSu makes everything better. We're so glad she made the trip to help us with his recovery.

The baby on the left looks just Ike Hudson, right?!?!
You also probably think it's Travis...wrong. It's his cousin, Ellen!!

Those Riley genes are strong!!

Headed to church just two days after his surgery.

Life is more fun when you can stand!

My grocery shopping pal.

Cheering on the Cubs in the playoffs.

What's a monthly post without a picture of our best gal pal, Macy?

We had the privilege of watching Macy so her parents could celebrate their anniversary at Kyle Field watching the Aggies take on Alabama.

Such a fun day with these two. We even took them both to a retirement party for one of the doctors I work with.

Skeleton Hudson. Thanks for the cute outfit, Tobi!

Morning snuggles with mom.

We ventured up to Waco for Baylor Homecoming. Most of the usual events (bonfire and parade) were cancelled due to flooding rains. SuSu took one for the team and stayed home with Hudson so we could go to the football game.

After the game we had to visit The Davis family. Karlie was so excited to see Hudson! Hudson clearly thought the same as he wouldn't stop smiling at her and crawled all over their living room.

The last weekend in October we had a Riley family wedding in Tyler.

We dropped Hudson off in Waco, and we had a kid free weekend and got to sleep in. Thank you JimJim and SuSu!!

Per the recommendation of our friends, we had lunch at Stanley's BBQ.

It did not disappoint. If you're ever in Tyler make sure you try it out. We had the brother in law and Mother Clucker.

Delicious!

Wedding fun!

Hudson Crockett! Cita and Pops gave Hudson this fun coonskin hat. I foresee lots of fun with this!

A real Hudson Bear on Halloween!

My favorite firefighter.

We love you so much Hudson and look forward to see how you grow and develop in month 8!

6 Months

Hudson,

You are 6 months old. You are still THE happiest baby we have ever known, and you just love life. You bring us more joy and encourage us to live life as freely and happily as you do. We love you forever Hudsy Bear.

Stats:

Height: 29 inches

Weight: 17lbs

Food: you take 7oz Q4hrs with your last bottle at 7pm. You also eat/devour real food after your 11 and 3 feedings. I'm fairly sure if we sat you in front of a buffet you'd eat until you're sick. You LOVE food!

Sleeping: you nap from 9-11am and 1-3pm. You've started dropping your late afternoon nap because you want to play so much. You still sleep all night 7p-7a.

Likes: eating, smiling, laughing, baths, trying to crawl, sitting up, playing with his toys,

Dislikes: when the food is gone, being put into car seat, lying still for diaper changes.

News: you got your first teeth just before the beach. Your 2 bottom teeth came in at the same time. We were prepared for sleepless nights and a really fussy baby, but it went much better than expected. A few doses of Tylenol and you were as good as new!

The 6 month included a lot of firsts for Hudson:

College football. Ready to cheer on our beloved Baylor Bears

First Labor Day parade in Boerne with our small group.

Just one year ago this group only had one baby. There are now 5 very loved and precious babies!

Boerne' best looking dads.

Half a year!

All smiles in Houston before our big trip to the beach!

And the road trip begins. 600ish miles. 4 adults. 2 babies. 2 trucks full of a weeks worth of fun!

You know you've got the best of friends when you have a room open up at the last minute and they rearrange their busy schedule to join your family at the beach...with a baby of their own!

Hudson's first time in the sand.

Cute babies and the best husbands after a long day of driving. We made it!

SuSu and JimJim drove all night after the Baylor game to join us at the beach.

Hudson loved his walks on the beach in the Tula (best purchase ever).

Off to the beach!

The precious Farrar Family. Life wouldn't be as fun without these guys.

Huey Family photo.

The best way to contain babies on the beach.

Eating Mum Mums for the first time.

Another month in the books, full of laughter, love, new milestones, and memories.
