We Gather Together

Thanksgiving 2013 was spent in Waco.

We loaded up the truck and headed north on 281 once I got home from working the night shift. Travis was wonderful and had the truck packed, seat warmers on, and pillows and blankets all ready for my arrival.

I took a short nap in the car and when we arrived at my parents house I was ready to be with my family.

Trent was out of town for work. 36 miles off the coast of Alabama, I think.

We certainly missed having him there, but we were able to see him the next weekend!

Jackson made a turkey of all the things he's thankful for:
His mom and dad, Kinley, Katy the dog, cowboy boots, and Bush's chicken. Love that kid!

TRye showing Jax how to play Washers. It's never too early to groom him to be a KOT.

We had a wonderful weekend surrounded by family. We are reminded each year how incredibly blessed we are to have such great family, our health, jobs, a merciful and sovereign God, and a love for each other that continues to grow deeper each and every day.

We hope each of you had a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving!

Cheeseburger in Paradise

Imagine the best burger you've ever had.

Now forget about it and come try a delicious, savory, hearty, greasy, cheesey, Texas sized burger at Alamo Springs Cafe. It's off the beaten path outside Comfort, yet minutes from Luckenbach.

Our friends invited us to join them one Sunday night. We're normally homebodies on the Sunday nights we don't have small group...so glad we said yes!!

They had a burger voted 3rd best in Texas by Texas Monthly.

Travis and Blake just had to try the infamous 'Cover Burger':
JalapeƱo Cheddar bun with a 1/2lb patty, grilled onions, cheddar cheese, avocado, and green chilis.

There it is in all it's glory

Homemade onion rings. Delicious!!

Homemade French fries! Yum!

Blake going in for the first bite...

Travis' turn to conquer the burger.

All done!

The meal wouldn't be complete without trying their homemade peach crisp.

This place is delicious and well worth the road trip to find it. We will definitely be back for more!!
