Things Look Good Around Here

To kickoff rodeo season in Houston, a ginormous, king-sized, Mecca of all BBQs is held. I mean there is an entire parking lot full of those fancy white tents and 35,000+ people come to eat BBQ, enjoy Texas country music, and hit up the carnival rides.

Trav's cousin, Kellye, is on the BBQ committee with the Houston Rodeo and she invited us to come see what it was all about.

It did NOT disappoint. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back next year.

This is just one of the hundreds of BBQ pits.

Rebecca and I at The Tumble Inn tent Friday night.

See what I mean? This tent easily held 150 people and turned into a dance hall at night.

Saturday morning breakfast.

The music lineup Saturday was out. of. control

First up, Max Stalling

Kellye, Max, and I. No big deal. He's tall.

Self portrait time.

Notice the man in the brown pimp suit. He busted out some never before seen dance moves to country music. Interesting.

One of the more elaborate tents. We had wristbands to go inside. We were VIP for the weekend.

Did I mention that I got to play with my bestie, her hubs, and our cousins this weekend??? Pretty stinkin' awesome.

Bffs since 2001.

Can you tell how much fun we had?!?! We are still tired, but the lack of rest was totally worth it. I highly suggest attending the Houston WCBBQ Cookoff next year if you're looking for something fun and new to do!
