We jumped at the chance to go because we hadn't seen most of this side of the family since our wedding in 2008, and we've always wanted to go to Montana (especially while escaping the Texas heat).
The 3 Lawry siblings (Judi, Randi, and Steve) rented a beautiful home on the shores of Flathead Lake. It had a main house that was built to replicate a lighthouse and a guesthouse. It also had a tram that took you directly to the dock, so you didn't have to climb the 100+ stairs. It was a beautiful home with an even more beautiful view.
We spent the week eating, relaxing, hiking in Glacier National Park, swimming (or just jumping) in to the cold Flathead lake, horseback riding and river rafting for some, too.
It was a wonderful week and I think everyone should visit this part of Montana. It was absolutely beautiful. The weather was a dream, the national park was incredible and you'll never see a lake as breathtaking as Flathead.
Before we left we spent the night in a hotel next to the airport. It was Hudson's first hotel stay and first flight.
The view from the back porch of the home.
Y'all, this is lake water. Do you see how clear it is? It was a chilly 70 degrees.
The Lighthouse
If you look closely you can see the tram that takes you from the house to the dock.
Hudson was the first from our family to try the cold water. It didn't phase him one but. He would've gone al in if we left him. The cold water didn't phase the cousins from the east coast either.
Our first hike at Glacier took us to a pretty waterfall. Hudson joined us for all of the hikes and did remarkably well riding in the Tula on Travis' back.
Cita and Pops offered to watch H one day so we could go on a guided fly fishing trip. We used Bigfork Anglers and they took us down Flathead River. We both loved it and can't wait to learn more and do it again.

Another day and another hike in Glacier. Hiking while extremely nauseated and pregnant isn't fun, nor would I recommend it. But I'm so glad I pushed through!
We drove through the National Bison Refuge and saw deer, sheep, and bison.
Mr. Riley was so amazing on the hikes. He never once complained about having a wiggly nearly 30lb toddler strapped to his back for 3-5 mile hikes.
The Lawry clan. We're spread out from Utah, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, Maine, and Massachusetts. It was so great to al be together and experience Montana.
