Two for the dough

Two months. Approximately 60 days of parenthood. I'm not sure how time goes so quickly!

Hudson is growing and changing everyday

2 month stats:

Weight: 13.7 lbs (95%)
Height: 25.5 (off the charts tall)

Likes: milk, car rides, smiling, having T take him to/from daycare, music, sitting in his bumbo, bath time.

Dislikes: looking to the left ( he prefers the right, but we're giving the left equal time), when eating time is over, if he doesn't get his milk when he wants.

Happenings: H began daycare when he was 8 weeks. He's adjusted well and is loved so well by his teachers. H is also lucky to have such an amazing dad that takes him and picks him up from daycare. Such a special time for those two.

His eyes are getting bluer and the hair more red. He loves playing on his mat, tummy time, swinging, and is a very happy baby!

Schedule: he still eats every 3 hours during the day and goes down around 8:30, sleeps until 5:30 and then back asleep again until 8:30. He's been doing this since about 7 weeks.

Baylor roommates reunited and Hudson met Lyla.

JimJim spent the night before a work event in SA.

Cowabunga, dude!

Sic Em, Bears! With his long arms and legs we're hoping for an athletic scholarship:-)

Long days at school make for a sleepy bear.

Hudson loves it when I'm off work and we get to play all day.

Happy two months!

Adjusting back to work hasn't been as hard as we thought, and I think we're all doing pretty well with our new schedules. I know that I'm loving being back at work!!
I feel like I'm an even better nurse now that I've actually been through labor/delivery. I love what I do and love who I work with...it doesn't get much better than that.

We can't wait to see what the third month holds for us.

One Month

We survived our first month as parents, we're not super sleep deprived, and I haven't noticed any gray hairs...yet.

Nobody tells you just how quickly the first 4 weeks will roll on by. I still feel like it was yesterday we were bringing him home!

It's hard to believe they can go from this:

To this in 4 short weeks!

Weight: 10 pounds 1 ounce ( 8.10 at birth

Length: long (22 at birth)

Eating: nursing is going so well. Hudson eats every 3 hours. His last night feed is at 11 and he usually sleeps until 5:30-6! This didn't start until week 3.

Likes: He loves to be cuddled, go for walks, being outside, car rides, having his hair washed, playing on his mat, and eating.

Dislikes: being naked. That boy hates to be in the nude! He doesn't seem to like 9:30-11:30 pm, or that's his standard time for choir practice, because he uses that voice :-) Do not swaddle his arms. He loves having use of his hands!

Sleeping: As I mentioned above, he's doing pretty well and sleeps most nights from 1130-5:30/6. We've been following the Babywise book and started establishing a "flexible schedule" around 2 weeks. During the day our schedule is wake, eat, play, and sleep for 1.5-2 hours and repeat. So far it's worked out pretty well and H seems to have become fairly accustomed to the routine...minus the 830-1130 choir practice :-)

Things we've done:

Had newborn pictures taken.

Shopping with mom and SuSu

Lots of walks in our neighborhood.

Naps on the couch with Dad.

Play date with his friend, Macy.

Going to church for the first time and it happened to be Easter! He did SO well, and didn't even make a peep during the service.

It's been a pretty wonderful and whirlwind of a month, but we wouldn't change it for the world.

We are absolutely in love with this most precious gift and still find ourselves in awe of the Lord's blessings.
