Green Acres is the place to be

Farm livin' is the life for me!

I love the peace and quiet of the country. There is nothing better
than waking up at sunrise, going to the front porch and sitting in my
Cracker Barrell rocking chair and reading God's word. That is my
perfect morning and I get to do that every weekend.

Another one of my favorites is a freshly mowed and baled pasture. We
had our front 20 acres mowed Thursday and it is beautiful. I just want
to get on Moose and run through the pastures.

Just a glimpse into some of my favorites!

"Life Moves Pretty Fast...

If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

That profound quote comes from Ferris Bueller.  Where DOES all of our time go? I feel like I just graduated High School yesterday and that was 9 years ago and college was 5 years ago! With time moving so quickly, it makes it hard to keep up with old friends like you used to. I hate drifting away from old friends and do my best to stay in touch. Thank goodness for blogs, emails, and The Facey Face (facebook). They have really allowed me to keep in touch with my friends or at least do a little better job of it.

With that said being said, I had the opportunity to spend some quality time with one of my greatest friends and roommates from Baylor, Ryan, and her precious little girl Madelyn on my day off yesterday. I had the best time with sweet Madelyn and Ryan. When I arrived Madelyn had just woken up from a 2 hour hap (swim lessons wore tuckered her out) and was pretty content having her mommy hold her. It took only a few seconds for her to wake up and shortly she took off down the hall to show me her room, the playroom, and baby Mason’s clothes! That girl does not walk she runs EVERYWHERE she goes. It’s precious. I’m not sure how 6 month preggers Ryan keeps up with that ball of energy! I attempted to take a picture of Madelyn, but that task became quite daunting as she does not care to sit still. The pic is the best I could get, but I think it’s pretty cute. She always has a smile on her face and I just LOVE those curls on her head. Not much cuter than a blonde with curls, right?!

Ryan and Madelyn- thank you for letting me come and play! I loved how organized and clean you are. You took such pride in organizing all of your sippy cups for your mom J

Summer TiMe!

Oh how I love the summer time. I love it for several reasons: it’s light when I leave for work, it’s still light when I come home, perfect pool weather, vacations, getting a summer tan, playing softball, letting the dogs swim in the pond, snow cones, late night Sonic drink runs, etc. I am still a kid at heart, or so I think.

This weekend I had the privilege of hanging out with 2 of my favorite gal pals while Travis worked.

Saturday I met my friend, Lane, at my parents house in Fort Worth for some pool time. (My rents were in Austin for a weekend golfing excursion and a pit stop in Waco to get mom’s hair done). Lane and I read our magazines, lounged in the pool on rafts and out of water in the chairs. After achieving a nice glow we headed to Sonic for a Happy Hour drink special and then on to DSW for some shoe shopping. I didn’t buy a thing. WOW! I heart shoes and I heart my sweet friend Lane.

Sunday our dear friend Meagan (Megs for short) came over. It was so nice to have a visitor that was willing to drive out to the country to see us. Usually we have to drive to see our friends J. We sat on the porch and watched the horses get in and out of the pond. We thought Sloan was going to go swimming at one point, as she was splashing water all over herself. It was really cute. After seeing the horses get in the water, we decided we wanted to swim but there was NO way we were getting anywhere near our nasty pond that has snakes, fish, and beavers in it. GROSS! So, we headed out to Lake Lewisville because they just built a brand new beach entry in Frisco/Little Elm. It was actually really nice. The sand was soft and the water actually had a blue tint and didn’t smell too much like a lake. It was extremely crowded with lots of families with their toddlers. We only lasted for an hour as it was hot and we were ready for dinner. It was a nice afternoon with a wonderful friend.

And that’s the story of our weekend. I even have a nice base tan to boot!

Vegas Baby

I just returned from a FABULOUS weekend. I headed to Vegas to celebrate my best friends bachelorette party. There were 12 girls and we had 3 rooms at The Venetian Hotel. I was fortunate enough to stay in a suite that was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, I did not bring my camera, so all I had for pictures was the iPhone. However, I have borrowed some pictures that one of the other gals took.
This is a picture of inside our hotel. It is the Grand Canal shops and it is lined with fabulous stores and if you want you can take a gondola ride as if you were really in Italy.

We all arrived on Friday (different times of the day) and met up for a fabulous dinner inside The Venetian at Lavo. It was amazing. I shared swordfish with Erin (the bride to be) and Stacey. If you know me, then you know that I am a picky eater and really do not care for fish, but this swordfish was de-LISH. It better have tasted good for the price we paid for it :) After dinner we headed to the club inside Lavo. I forgot how much of a clubber I am NOT. I was so out of my element, but still managed to have a great time dancing the night away with my friends.

Saturday we lounged by the pool at Tao Beach where Mario Lopez (AKA AC Slater) was hosting a pool party. I managed to get sunburned even though I lathered up with SPF 50. Oh well, at least I'll be tan after the burn factor goes away.

Saturday evening we headed to dinner at Tao. It is an asian fusion themed restuarant and it was also amazing. After dinner we headed up to the club at Tao where Audrina from The Hills was hosting that evening. She is really not that intersting and should consider eating. She is so skinny, it looks like she could fall over!

Sunday came and we all packed up and went our separate ways. We had girls from all over the US: San Fransisco, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. I am thankful to have this Monday off of work to recover.

Erns, it was a wonderful weekend and I cannot wait for the wedding in September. ILY!

These boots are made for...

Dancin’ and that’s just what I’ll do…..

1.      Please forgive my lack of posting. I’ve been a busy little bee!

2.      Travis surprised me with these new boots a couple of weeks ago and I’m in love. With the boots. AND Travis.

3.      Now we just need to find a saw dust covered dance floor to try these new kicks out.

This weekend I am headed to VEGAS for my best friends bachelorette party. I cannot wait.
